Despite the forecast the 2011 Conwy ascent saw a record number of participants (183) start the event in pleasant but cloudy conditions and finish in warm sunshine. Apologies to those who missed out on getting a coaster and snack at the end but the record numbers caught us out. We are getting more coasters made up so if you didn't get one let us know your name and address and we will send one on, unfortunately there's not much we can do about the sandwich!!
The results are now up on the results pages.
Congratulations to Shaun Taylor on knocking 49 seconds off Carl Reynolds 12'6 SUP record in what were not terribly fast conditions. I'm sure Carl will be keen to reclaim it next year!
Congratulations also to Richard Parrott and Sally Collison for knocking over a minute off the mixed TC2 record.
We hope you all enjoyed the event, especially if you travelled a long way and we look forward to seeing you all next year. I guess we need to plan for the magic 200 paddlers.
John Willacy of Rockpool sea kayaks has posted some nice pictures of the event at

Hopefully we will have some more photos later.
If anyone left a blue and white child's cycling top on the railing at the community centre, let us know and we will send it back to you.
