LOCATION OF START AND FINISH

The start and finish are both on the WEST side of the Afon Conwy. The start is from the Beacons Car Park, Conwy Morfa, which can be reached from the A55 expressway junction immediately to the west of the Conwy tunnel. At the top of the slip road follow the brown direction signs to Conwy Marina, and when you reach the marina village follow the Conwy Ascent canoe race signs to the start car park.
If approaching from Conwy town, take the Bangor road out of the one way system within the town walls, and about 1 mile out of the town you get to the A55 junction. Go straight over the bridge at the A55 and follow the road round to the right to the marina village, then follow the Conwy Ascent canoe race signs to the start car park.

The car park at the finish is at the Dolgarrog aluminium works at the north end of the village of Dolgarrog. This can be reached by taking the B5106 out of Conwy at the mini roundabout by the castle. It is signposted to Trefriw. The aluminium works is on the left as you enter the village and is very obvious. Opposite a row of shops, there is a road to the car park which is behind the works.
